We’ve been baking this week, trying out Lauren’s brownie recipe, made with our hot chocolate powder for extra depth and a hint of caramel sweetness. Rich, fudgy and just right for this time of year, they’re best enjoyed warm with a mug of Harth on the side.

Ingredients

200g dark cooking chocolate
110g butter
40g of Harth hot chocolate
2 eggs
150g caster sugar
110g brown sugar
110g all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

 1. Melt together butter and cooking chocolate on a medium heat until glossy in texture.

2. Weigh out 40g of hot chocolate and slowly sift and stir into the mixture until completely dissolved. It should be a thick, creamy consistency.

3. Set the pan aside and leave to stand for 10 minutes while you whisk together eggs and sugar. Whisk until the mixture has lightened and increased in volume.

4. Add the chocolate mixture to the eggs and sugar and whisk together.

5. Sift the flour into the mixture and mix by hand until it's smooth and has no lumps.

6. To bake, pour mixture into a sheet lined with greaseproof paper and cook in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 10-12 minutes (you can also use a piping bag to make them cookie shaped).

7. Leave them for 1-2 hours to cool down and then enjoy your Harth chocolate fudgy brownies!
